Linnea Jensen is a visual artist born in Denmark and raised in Sweden; she has lived and worked in both countries since completing her art education in Stockholm. She currently lives and works on Bornholm.

The sense of rootlessness accompanying these moves has influenced her artistic life in various ways—both through the lack of a fixed connection to a specific artistic community and through the themes present in her art.

While she may appear to explore a diverse range of subjects, a closer look reveals an underlying theme revolving around longing and freedom. A case in point is her upcoming major solo exhibition at CCA Andratx, Mallorca, in 2026—titled "A wave so strong"—which centers on experiences and emotions from the early years when her two sons were small. The images oscillate between muted melancholy and luminous tenderness.

Nature is another recurring theme, serving as the setting for many of her works; memories of growing up amidst Swedish forests and lakes, along with summers spent in the archipelago, remain a constant presence.

In recent years, she has spent extended periods working in New York and has completed several residencies at CCA Andratx in Mallorca, where she is returning to work throughout the autumn.
